I’ve tried to get ahead with content this week. That’s involved:
- recording our first Etch Audio episode on Content Design
- editing a video for the Summer Summit 2018 (coming soon)
- writing a post about 4 tips to create your own podcast
- doing a webinar on running the Lightning Decision Jam
Why create all this content? Well, outside of running digital projects with our partners, I have to share value up front, often for free, or as Gary Vaynerchuck explains, “giving without expectation
.” He goes on:
In order to build any type of relationship that gives you the air cover to be able to ask for something down the line, you should always be the one providing the value upfront. You might not always get what you ask for, but at the end of the day, the absolute worse case scenario is that you had a positive impact on somebody through your actions, and as a human, that should just make you feel good.
Yes, it makes me feel good and if anything, it allows me to create more value at Etch
