Hey everybody,
Provocative statement? Of course! This issueās title comes from news of a new hire at our neighbours
Juro. Theyāve just hired a
Director of Sales, who has just 4 years of commercial experience. A very different story compared to one organisation asking for
nearly double that.
My take: Experience doesnāt count as much as it used to. Your ability to learn and grow does. Thatās the growth mindset at play.
Iāve often found myself eye-rolling when hearing āIāve been in this business for 20 yearsā or similar. It sounds defensive and tells me youāre probably stuck!

The job for life doesnāt exist. Nothing is standing still. We have seen more change in the past months than the past years. Twilio conducted a
survey about digital transformation and shared this:
Fundamentally Twilio said that for all of its ills, Covid-19 was the digital accelerant of the decade and has accelerated companiesā digital communications strategy by a global average of 6 years, with 5.3 years the UKĀ average.
So the next time you introduce yourself, or push for a new idea, or find something failing and look to do something about it, consider looking forwards and driving for change. You may not readily know the solution, but thatās ok - Google and consultants like myself can help (
why not say hi!).
Einstein said is best: āThe definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.ā When the same thing doesnāt work, try something different.
Thank you for reading this issue,
